    Cultural Celebrations @ GCP

Graduate Commons kicked off its Cultural Celebrations program with Faculty Director David Carrasco and Maria Luisa Parra's annual Dia de los Muertos event last week.  This weekend, we kick off the "resident-led" portion with a Diwali celebration.

Diwali is a holiday celebrated in different ways by several South Asian religions, but generally, it is known as the Festival of Lights - light over darkness, good over evil. Families and friends usually wear their finest and their brightest and get together for parties with great food, music, and firecrackers. Come celebrate, life, loved ones, and learn about this amazing festival with residents.
